BDE Additional Services & Savings

These optional services apply to BDE courses. Personalize your BDE course with convenient service upgrades and enjoy savings when you register with a friend.

BDE Expressway — $150 Extra

Students typically complete their 10 hours of BDE in-car instruction over two to four months. If you need to finish sooner, our Expressway option guarantees completion of those 10 hours within six weeks of your agreed start date. Select this add-on when purchasing your BDE course.

BDE Rural Pickup & Drop-Off — $150 Extra

Living outside the city should not make learning to drive more difficult. This option provides pickup and drop-off from your agreed location for your BDE in-car lessons, making training more convenient for students in outlying communities. Contact our office to confirm that your address is within our rural service area before adding this option.

BDE Road-Test Car Use — Ottawa Centres Only — $150 Extra

Add use of the school car for your road test at an Ottawa DriveTest centre, including a one-hour refresher lesson on the same day, before the test. Notify the school at least 2–3 weeks before your road test and provide your appointment confirmation. Pickup and return transportation are not included. Students must meet the instructor at the DriveTest centre and arrange their own transportation there, unless pickup and return transportation have been arranged with the school for an additional fee.

BDE Friend Discount — Save $20 Each

Starting your driving journey with a friend? Register for your BDE courses together and receive $20 off each student’s course fee. It’s a simple way for both of you to save while building the skills and confidence to drive safely.

Online BDE — eLearning Language Options

Package details

Choose one eLearning language for the online theory portion of your BDE course. English is included at no additional cost. Alternatively, you may select one of the following languages for an additional $25.

Complete MTO-approved BDE training

  • 20 hours of theory instruction
  • 10 hours of HomeLink / flexible instruction
  • 10 hours of one-on-one in-car training
  • Pick-up and drop-off for scheduled BDE in-car lessons
  • All components completed within one year

Pick-up and drop-off: Subject to location and instructor availability. If an address is outside our regular service area, a convenient meeting point closer to the service area may be arranged.

A G1 licence is not required to begin theory, but it is required before in-car lessons. Theory must be completed before in-car training is scheduled. Please allow 2–3 weeks after submitting your completed in-car request and required documents for lessons to begin. Standard in-car training typically takes 2–4 months from the start of lessons; Expressway completes the 10 in-car hours within six weeks of your agreed start date.

After successful completion, graduates may request a Driver’s Licence History from ServiceOntario and may qualify for an insurance discount.
